Founders of ULiveOrganics

Who is Joanne Joyce?

As a teenager I suffered from frequent breakouts which really knocked my

confidence. I found myself feeling down, depressed, and saying no to going out with my friends as I was so paranoid and conscious that people would be looking at my terrible skin!

I purchased numerous over-the-counter spot solutions, along with visits to the doctor and dermatologists to try and combat this ongoing issue I had with my skin.

The prescribed solutions from the doctor were very drying and had irritated my skin, but I did not care as I just wanted the spots gone.

I would have tried anything… without thinking of the damage these chemical-based ingredients were doing to my skin.

I could not believe how little products were available approaching a more natural and organic solution to problematic skin.

I went on to study Irish, Sociology and Politics at the National University of Galway, which I loved!

However, my passion for skincare and beauty products was so strong that I decided I needed to do this for myself and possibly help others with my experience down the line.

I researched many different natural and organic ingredients to help take care of my skin and even contacted a local Nurse who assisted me with her wealth of knowledge in the skincare sector.

It was after this revelation that we founded ULiveOrganics in 2019 after two years of product formulation with the expertise of our wonderful Tutor Margaret Karlinski.

We use only certified organic and natural ingredients for one simple reason - because what you put on your skin goes skin deep.

We are so excited to share this beautiful serum we have created with you!

Who is Martha Hyland?

I grew up in rural Ireland on a farm. I have always felt a connection to the land and strive to be as sustainable as possible. Eating fresh organic produce daily was the norm. Emigrating to the UK, I continued to embrace my passion for nature and its beauty. From country walks to forest escapes or strolls on the beach.

My love for the healing power of nature led me to grow an edible garden and to cook from scratch!

I embarked in a career in Nursing, became a Registered Psychiatric Nurse, compounded my studies completing General Nurse training and worked for the NHS for 30 years. I also spent 12 years as a community Psychiatric nurse in the diverse borough of Harrow in London.

However when I was studying at the  University of west London to consolidate my formal education into BSc in Nursing that I decided jump ship and pursue my dreams in Organic skincare.

Throughout my career, I have observed that a poor diet, lack of exercise, stress related and sleeping problems can play havoc with your skin and your health.

It is not only what you put in your body that is important but what you put on your Body.

Your skin is the window to your inner health.

It is not surprising that many health conditions often manifest initially through the skin and in other circumstances advanced health conditions shows in the skin.

The devastating psychological effects experienced by people with skin care problems often leads to poor self-esteem, lack of confidence and in other cases avoidance behaviour, instead refusing to go out and meet others.

Despite trying numerous skin care products, I found very few suited my sensitive skin and as a result, I rarely wore make up and resorted to natural remedies that I found in my kitchen

In 2017 our passion for Organic skin care products grew, leading us to

enrol on a Diploma in the Development of Organic Phyto-Skincare Cosmetics, achieving distinctions, taught by the expert Margaret Karlinski.

Who is Margaret Karlinski?

Education runs in my blood. Since early childhood, I had a huge hunger for knowledge and 'all things natural' and teaching.

I completed my formal education with a master’s degree in Science and Education from the University of Warsaw. Once settled in London, I soon followed my dream, qualified as an aromatherapist (IFA) and set up my own practice.

I became really involved in the field of aromatherapy and have been working closely with the IFA (International Federation of Aromatherapists) ever since.

As the portfolio of my qualifications kept growing, so did the demand for my educational skills, in the end hijacking my work diary and resulting in the 'birth' of my own school and consultancy services (AromaEssence Education and Consultancy).

I have been working within the education sector since 1990 and over the years I have developed and delivered a huge number of highly popular courses and workshops specialising in science, organic skincare development, aromatherapy, and other complementary therapies.

I passionately follow new scientific discoveries pertaining to all aspects of

aromatherapy and natural cosmetic formulation.  I work with several organic skincare producers based in the UK and abroad developing eco-conscious and effective natural products. Aside from this, I also work with a wonderful organically certified essential oils distillery based in Greece (Vessel).

I have been a keynote speaker at conferences, lectured for a variety of  complementary medicine schools (Quantum Metta School of Massage, the Middlesex School of Complementary Medicine, etc.) and colleges (inc. the University of Bedfordshire and the University of Cornwall), written numerous articles on chemistry and other subjects and contributed to many  publications. I love my work, but nothing gives me more pleasure than seeing my students and clients spreading their wings and archiving their dreams.
